Re: Mazzer Mini Saeco VV- imbalance?
If you plan to eventually upgrade your machine too then buy all means get the Mazzer, or something of similar quality.
One of the most common pieces of advice you read on here is buy the best grinder you can afford. I see no reason why your situation is any different.

Re: Mazzer Mini Saeco VV- imbalance?
Hi P1 a Mazzer/Macap/Compak would go great with your VV (until you get upgraditis and get the urge for some shiny new kit) as Brett says use a non-pressurised basket in your pf and a tamper to fit and you should produce pretty respectable java until upgraditis sets in!!
cheers gm

As long as the VV has a non-pressurized group handle you will se an improvement. However the MM is overkill for the VV IMHO. Once you install the MM you will be inclined to buy the GP or GPP or DS to further improve your espresso. Please run your BS filter over this post and take all advice with said grains of salt! ATB!

Re: Mazzer Mini Saeco VV- imbalance?
As far as I can tell, the correct way to upgrade your coffee experience is from the source to the cup. I.e.: beans-->grinder-->water-->machine.
My guess is that using a Mazzer with the V.V. will give better results overall than using the 480 with a Silvia.

Mazzer Mini Saeco VV- imbalance?
Evening all
Would a Mazzer Mini teamed with a Saeco Via Venezia be a sensible/workable combo or overkill? I have been looking at upgrading my machine but after a couple of months of CS feed back I think I get it-its about the overall bean quality and grind (assuming sound technique) so instead of an extraction upgrade I am looking at a grind upgrade with the machine to come later i.e probably a Silvia. Any comments appreciated. Also off topic where to you get good coffee in Canberra, am here for a couple of days. Thanks.Tags: None
