Nemox Lux -- disassembly/adjusting for finer grind

My Lux has a screw holding the hopper in place. It goes in through the collar at an angle into the bottom of the hopper. If you can't screw it out you'll have to drill it out unfortunately. Obviously this is best done with the assembly removed from the top of the body of the grinder. Tread carefully as you don't want to break anything but if you do don't despair as spare parts are readily available and are cheapest at Cafe-Parts in the US.
To the OP I'd have to wonder if maybe its time for new burrs in your Lux. Mine is a couple of years old and still grinds plenty fine enough set on about number 4-5 depending on the beans. Burrs are also readily available for these grinders so might be worth considering as you'll get a better quality grind as well.

    Hmmm...

That is unusual mate. My Lux grinder definitely did not have a screw securing the hopper in place, just a friction/taper fit. Looks like some precision drilling and the use of an E-Z-Out is going to be required if someone put a screw in there...

Tried with Ice and boiling water with no luck . I've now find there is a screw holding the hopper but the head has shorn off . How they managed to get at this screw when there was no hole drilled in the burr cover is a real mystery !!!!

Maybe its just a bit gummed up with coffee residue?
My Hopper is jammed solid on the burr carrier . Any idea what I can use to try to free it ( Chemicals ? )

Thanks Renzo -- the Allen key was exactly what I needed. I dont know how I missed something so simple! Ill blame it on the dim lighting around the coffee machine

Nemox Lux -- disassembly/adjusting for finer grind

    Hi guys,

Ive had my Lux for about four years now, and Im finding that its hard to get it grinding fine enough for espresso -- I usually have to set it on the very lowest setting to get an acceptable result. Im particularly worried since Im thinking about getting a Silvia, and I know thatll need a finer grind than Im using now.

I took it apart last night and saw that theres just a screw thats stopping it from adjusting down finer, but Im not sure how to remove it, since theres no screw head at the top of the screw. You can see the screw in this pic:

How should I go about removing that? Would needlenose pliers do the job?
Working...
