    Hey KK,
Thanks for everything. I completed the mod today on my Mini and it works a treat. I used Duck tape though, not double sided tape. The doser now sweeps completely clean (well almost anyway).

    Thanks again
    Tony

Both sides of the tape are sticky
The green plastic strip is the barrier so the two sticky sides dont touch (it peels off)

The black part you see is the exposed sticky portion that you apply to the sweeper

Hey it does look blue in the photo (but it is green ?)

    Hi KK and thanks
I dont believe I need to ask again considering how many times youve already helped but I must be dyslexic or something. If the blue part of the double sided tape is the part that exposes the glue... what is sticking it to the vanes because that is the side facing out?

Did you peel the black part off to revel the glued surface?
Im so sorry mate but Im sure Ive missed something important.
    Regards and thanks
    Tony

    It is a 1mm thick X 18mm wide double sided/glue tape
    Its more like dense foam

The tape is black and the green part is the strip one would normally peel off to expose the glue

However I left this strip on it on for hygiene reasons

You can also use in place of this type of tape
    1) brushes (2) business card (3) duck tape

    Hope that helps

    KK

    Thanks KK
Thats great and the photos are very good.
This might be a strange question but in the first photo the tape is black (or so it appears) but on the Doser Sweep it is blue.
Have I missed something because Im a slow learner.
    Cheers
    Tony

Yes, my new Mini doesnt sweep clean at all in standard form but Im concerned about taping and cleaning too.

At the moment Im just brushing as much as possible out and putting a small amount through before nest use to eliminate old grounds.

Has anyone else solved the cleaning / taping issue?
I have put up a few new photos and instructions of this easy clean sweep mod on my Mazzer Major post

    Wrong thread?
"Im concerned that the structure will make cleaning the hopper very difficult because coffee oil is extremely resilient in my experience. Im also concerned about other parts in the grinder that may accumulate oily residue."

right thread just didnt give it much context.

Id just rinse it in a cafetto solution in the sink, then dry it with paper towel.

Your mini is very different to my Super Jolly. The sweeper vane adjustment works in a telescopic fashion.
No, not different, my mistake. Trying to rely on a time-weary memory as I wasnt at home when I posted. Screwing in the doser adjuster works when you have tape attached to it. The actual sweepers dont lower.

You can try screwing the adjusting knob inside the doser down to lower the sweepers. The downside of this is that it will decrease the dose size (a smaller amount of grinds per thwack on the lever).

Use good thick tape and it will last - I used duct tape and its still going strong a year later.
