The Lux is effectively a mini with SJ burrs- and therefore a smaller donk as well. Like the mini-e which also has 64mm burrs, which are not identical to the SJ, its not designed for continuous operation
its for an office environment. so when you say th SJ is not designed for continuous operation is this scenario bad then? would that be the same for the LUX? its all about 2kg a day
I think your getting mixed up. I cant quote the mini duty cycle specs, but Super Jollys is 40sec on 40 sec off. Which is adequate for most cafes, ie 2groups flat out. It 10-15 sec to grind for a double, so both groups going = 30 seconds grinding then 30 seconds brewing + cleaning your not going to outpace it.

The reason many people use bigger then this is due to speed and grind quality rather the duty cycle. Or your in an extremely busy cafe running 3 or 4 groups flat out.

Im not sure on what the mini duty cycle is, the best information I could find was some people saying its 30% on. which could mean anything. 20 sec on 40 sec off maybe. Adequate for any single group machine if you dont mind waiting for it to grind.

Looks like it will be a very popular home grinder - faster than the Mini Manual and smaller than the Jolly!

how does it stack up against the super Jolly?

In our current kitchen the SJ would "just" fit under the cupbords above, and when i say just i mean may not.

It will need to cope with up to 2kg per day.

    thanks

If you want a faster mini for home, it will be good- as you cant drive a SJ that hard in a domestic envroinment. You can add a mini hopper or short hopper if you wish to cut the height. Pricing is naturally between mini and SJ pricing....

    started a topic Mazzer Lux

    Mazzer Lux

    Gday all..

I was at my Mazzer bloke today and spied this one- just arrived...

    Mazzer Lux...

Its close to a mini-manual in body size but with 64mm SJ burrs. It ships with a SJ hopper but all mini hoppers wil fit.

Current stocks are auto cutout, but there will be manuals as well.

So if you wanted a SJ but with a smaller footprint, this may be for you...

Ill see if I can do a deal for a CS bulk buy at some stage  8-)

    Chris

Working...
