Looked about, but my good buddy Google wasnt talkative.
I really love variety in coffee, I usually roast 3~4 types of beans every few weeks, then drink them mostly as single origins, swapping from one to the other.
That means each grind has just a double shot worth of beans in the hopper. Now in my reading, it seems that most machines like a fair wad of beans in the hopper to ensure consistent performance. Well, MY conditions are consistent, just 14~16g in the hopper, all ground in one go.
My 3 year old Sunbeam EM0480 is starting to die, becoming somewhat inconsistent from grind to grind. What Im after a new grinder that works well with a small volume in the hopper.
Does anyone have experience with the minimal hopper filling approach? What grinders do a good job under these conditions? Ill pay ~$0.5K dollars or so for anything that will work superbly in this fashion (Im allowed to hope for bargains...).
Arthur, who cant focus enough to drink the same bean twice in a row
