    Re: Sunbeam EM0480 replacement burrs

As per the PM and for others..

Sunbeam have indicated that the top Burrs are not removable from the carrier..

A bit of reading for some but goes back to at 2007... In addition many modded teh top carrier for a fix.

Now unless that has been fully re designed and molded on the burrs.. The Burr should pop out with careful assistance.

Been back onto Sunbeam Australia and double checked with them in regard to what you said.  The top burr carrier is integrated with the burr itself, so is a replaceable item. We shall see how we go with the replacement and then take a look at washers if necessary.
    Ya a lucky person..

Every one I have seen has just been an issue of a bit of a push and the top burr comes out..  Other suppliers of said burrs would only sell you the burr and not the carrier..

Flick me a PM and maybe we can look at a quick mod / fix for ya.

Had a look at the top burr carrier and dont see how you can get the burr out of it as it appears a press fit. This being the case and the burrs being replaceable you would think that you should be able to get the job lot. I guess that I am back to the drawing board. Will check again with sunbeam tomorrow and see if I can obtain this item.

Have a look at the 4th photo down and where it talks about the plastic ears. It is one of those that is broken off. Hope this helps. (hope I can get help!!) Also are you saying you cant buy a burr carrier?
Ya can try... But never seen one as a seperate part...

Thus my understanding is NO... Only as part of a whole Grinder..

Would suggest a USER just yanked and pulled the carrier and snapped it off. Not warranty; but depending on the age ya could try... What are the 3 digets stamped into the bottem / label...

About 20min to maybe fix.... And some stuffing about... May only be temp... But only a guess.. Could take much longer and thus not worth it..

I would be happy to offer $20 plus postage... And thats about tops.. If I was interested...

Send a pic of the actual item etc .. Why link to somthing else if you have in ya hand... OR have you not purchased yet ?

Burr set IS not the Burr carrier..

To some extent what ya saying does not make sense to me.......

If the small lugs on the top Burr carrier... Would be a manufacturing fault  OR the usual USER introduced fault..  10 min fix..

If at 0 or 2 it does not grind fine enough... Then the addition of washers is a possible fix..

PS. Burr carriers are not a spare part...

Thus could be good for scrap parts only...
I am not sure how to explain it but will include a link that shows what I am talking about.

    Sunbeam EM0480 replacement burrs

    Hi all
Am new to this forum but have been lurking for a little while. I am just getting into the coffee scene and on the weight of what a lot of people on here wrote, I bought a EM0480 grinder.. off ebay "as new".
When it arrived I eagerly tried some fresh roasted beans in it starting at around 10 (0-25 I think are the parameters). Well it put 100mls thru in 11 seconds (did seem a bit on the coarse side even to me). To make a long story short it appears that one of the plastic ears that engage with the thread on the top burr carrier had broken off so it would never do a fine grind . Spoke to Mr Sunbeam and he said they dont do a top burr only a set at $88! Fortunately the ebay sellers who are honest lovely folk are willing to pay for it. I was wondering does anyone know can you get them cheaper or apparently the burr set in the Nemo Lux is interchangeable. Are these cheaper?? Any help appreciated
Working...
