Re: Grinders in Brisbane
Good Morning Gehrke
I think you would benefit from coming down to our showroom to demonstrate and test our range of machines and grinders. Nothings beats getting your hand on a machine and getting a feel for what works for you. We have a VBM, Giotto, Isomac, Bezzera, Silvia and soon GEE on the bench for testing and viewing. Grinders change on a rotating basis but at the moment we have two Compak grinders and a Mazzer coming in.
You have correctly identified the fact that you want to be able to access local after sales support and service.
Feel free to give me a call and make a time to come down, have some coffee’s and a chat about what works for you and work.
Thank you Mark for the mention and referral. We are down at New Farm this Saturday (2nd and 4th Saturday of the month) and Manly on every Third Saturday set up with our cart.... lets catch up and have our usual quota of 10 or so coffee’s! I have some amazing new Single Origins at the moment!
Kind Regards,
Roger Bright

Also want a smaller machine like a Silvia/Lelit/Gee for my office and then a new home machine...not sure which one there).
Go and visit Supreme Roasters and see if Rodger can spare you a few hrs...
It seems like Coffee has been identified and your off on a mission.
But with the following info;
I would suggest YOUR possibly going to fall into some simple traps and be at the mercy of a smart sales person..Originally posted by 664449534A44210 link=1285039441/0#0 date=1285039441There is soooooooo much info on here, im currently very confused as to what to get!!!! Ive never owned a grinder as well...so much reading still to do! ahhhhhhhhh.
You really need to step back and define your SCOPE... Then itemise all the issues and points you think you know...
A business plan, in effect.
Then let Rodger educmucate you
; While the rest of us rant and toss up 101 reasons and issues as to why things will and wont work...
Only then should you start to access your wallet; because until then your in an emotional world and you will end up buying things that sound great. But are not suitable and then every one will suffer.
Rodger also runs a cart so has plenty of experience... Just remember his time is his and his efforts etc should be rewarded.....
I understand he like the odd choc coated coffee bean ;D

Grinders in Brisbane
Hey gang,
Im interested in purchasing 2 grinders (and 2 new machines) shortly. One for work and one for home.
The awesome thing is that work is paying for their grinder so i can get a fairly nice one
. I was wanting to go and check some out in Brisbane...anyone know where i could go to see a bit of a range of grinders and machines? Id like to purchase locally in the end for after sales service.
Im currently looking at the following:
Home: Probably something between $400-$800
Work: something a little better...probably between $600-$1200.
There is soooooooo much info on here, im currently very confused as to what to get!!!! Ive never owned a grinder as well...so much reading still to do! ahhhhhhhhh.
Ill also be looking at getting 3 new coffee machines soon as well...might be worth getting a sweet deal through one shop (2 Grinders, 3 machines)???
Any thoughts/ideas. (i know 3 machines sounds excessive, but were wanting a new 2 or 3 group machine for a mobile coffee cart weve built at work for camps, functions, etc - Im a youth worker. Also want a smaller machine like a Silvia/Lelit/Gee for my office and then a new home machine...not sure which one there).
Thanks.
Grant
