Youve never worked in a coffee roastery grinding hundreds of kilos of coffee :
No, but Ive done an awful lot of design and development work on rotating machinery and if a piece of hardware has a stated Duty Cycle, then its there for a reason.....

If you need a grinder thats rated for continuous use (bag filling, etc) then you would need to grab a purpose built Deli Grinder. Even then, theyre still not designed to operate for hours on end - maybe 15 minutes On and 20 minutes Off.

As Mal has correctly stated, the K3T is not designed to be a bag grinder, however I suspect that you may have had in mind a converstion to grind on demand- whereby the grinder will operate in timed mode or in grind on demand mode by pressing against the tongue. This is the current configuration for the K3T and as such, if you have gained the skills required to do the job, no problem.
id like it to work so that in manual mode i can hit the paddle under chute (microswitch) and it grinds. at the moment i have to use the toggle switch on the body for manual. [factory config only uses paddle in auto mode to dispense a timed dose]
so it would only be continuous for as long as i need to fill basket. i picked up on this word somewhere else - obviously misread it
Id be a bit careful mate as I doubt that the K3T is designed to operate on a continuous basis. Most grinders (including commercial units) are designed for intermittent use only. That is, they have a Duty Cycle; something along the lines of 5 minutes On, 15 minutes Off and maybe even less On Time than that.

Best to talk to one of our professionals and discuss what it is you need from your grinder..... 8-)
got an 08 k3t. microswitch only works for timed dosing - was thinking of rewiring manual mode in series with microswitch so that i can use the microswitch to activate the grinder for continuous operation. no doubt someone has thought of this before me... any comments?
