Hi all,
I got a Silvia for christmas which I tried to use (and failed) with my sunbeam em430 grinder. After mucking around for a few days I knew I had to get a better grinder to get the most out of the Silvia, so I went ahead and purchased a Mazzer Mini.
When I first set it up, i found the zero point by running the grinder and moving the dial towards the finest setting. As soon as I heard the chirp I backed off a little.
Over the last week I have been playing with the grind settings, going up and down to see what affect it has on the pour. Ive been putting 2-3 doubles worth of bean in the hopper at a time.
This morning I decided I would just run it without the hopper. As I was now using a new batch of beans, I re-found the zero point and backed off so I couldnt hear the burrs touching. Put in enough beans for a double, and ground them. As the grind came to an end, the machine started making that "burr touching" sound again???
Has anyone experience this problem before? I havnt taken off the top burr carrier to investigate. Is it possible that the nut on the lower carrier has come loose and the lower burr is moving? As this unit is less than a week old im a bit apprehensive doing too much with it if it has a problem that is covered under warranty.
Thanks for reading my loooong post
