Yes i hear what your saying just move the collar. But it only moves a short way from the front then about a 1/3 turn to the right (finner) and wont move any further, and the grinds stop comming out. I move it back (left) so the grinds start comming out again but its too corse.
Well then you have more adjustment than you require.

The espresso area will occur across a zone of less than 1cm between these two extremes.

You should only need to adjust the step-less adjuster

The quickest way is to get the right ballpark  grind is to grind to a consistency of table salt

To fine tune - adjust to course or fine with a few shots on your machine as required

    Hello bigdog,

Just move the entire collar. The collar only needs to be removed to access the burrs for cleaning.

    Oh Help!

Hi fellow grinders, I am the very proud owner of a compak k3t so excited after using a EM480 which didnt impress me much.
Anyhow I am still on a steep learning curve with all things coffee so I need to dial in this baby.

I just want to confirm (the instruction manual is terrible) that you need to unscrew the 3 screws in the adjusting collar and move the collar around to put it to a new setting, then steplessly adjust with the grinder going ? I hope this makes sence and if you have a compak I think it will.

I did purchase from a sponsor but it was hot and late in the day and I didnt get a very thorough demonstration.
Working...
