Then it was the Vario, which from my experience grinds as well as the Macap, but is cleaner and has much less retention.
As I mentioned in an earlier post the Vario can be a bit finicky to adjust, but once you get a feel for it then it is easy to get consistently good pours.
I have used mine fairly heavily (~60 doubles a week) over the last 6 months and it hasnt missed a beat. Worthwhile to get some Grindz for cleaning though as it is a bit hard to pull the top burr out for regular cleaning. It can be done, but you need to make sure the surfaces are very clean before putting it back in or your settings change.
Latest versions are pretty well setup out of the factory, but if you find the fine setting isnt fine enough have a look on Google, there is a video showing the adjustment (very easy).
All in all an excellent grinder, I am sure you will like it.
