We recently purchased a Lelit Combi (with built-in PL53 griner) and have been really happy with the quality of coffee that this machine produces, but have just experienced an issue with the grinder when we changed to a dark roast for the first time.
The first few grinds with the new bean went ok, but then the beans were no longer getting ground, even though you could hear the motor whirring away. At closer inspection, and after removing the hopper, it seems as though the beans are getting stuck in the mouth of the grinder, and are too large to reach the burrs.
I had read elsewhere that dark roasted beans are generally larger in size, but was wondering if this is the primary cause? I also know that the dark roast will be oilier, but we had really only just started using this bean.
Is there anything else that I should be considering as a possible cause?
