  • Faema uranina grinder - how they stack up to a modern grinder

    Hey all
Im in the process/search for a uranina single group, amongst my findings i have come across a uranina grinder. Now it is pretty expensive, i can get a damn good mazzer and a bit of change.
I dont know anything about these grinders, how would they compare or function compared to todays modern grinders? It looks phenomenal, but i still want a grinder that is reliable.

    What are your thoughts?
    Daniel

    How does that stack up?

The Uranina is super pretty, collectable and will lose far less $ than a new grinder.

New grinder for the same amount of money will be a better grinder with warranty.

You are talking about apples and oranges really the only thing in common is they are both classified as "grinders".

Ohh... if you dont buy the grinder Im sure there is a long queue of people here that would (or swap you for a new Mazzer).
    ;D

        super pretty for sure...
Can they be used as a everyday grinder or are they more an ornament?

          Like a hotrod...
you could drive it every day but most days your wouldnt get to work as it would overheat at the lights or get damaged bouncing in and out of potholes. If you are happy to rebuild, repaint, rewire the hotrod then sure, drive it every day.

Most hotrod owners also own a late model car to drive everyday. They stop, go, are quiet and reliable but never look as cool.

Do you want a hotrod or a work horse?
          (or both)
          8-)

            ha.... very good analogy
I might do what i did in my early 20s, have a expensive old car that was off the road more than it was on and drive around in a bomb.
