Just bought a CC45 for a great price and stripped out burr carrier and doser chamber to clean it and it has come up a treat. Lots of caked on oils but other than that it is in great condition. Also removed the front mount tamper while I was at it.
One thing I noticed during reassembly though is the doser chamber covers about 3mm of the discharge shoot from the grinding chamber causing grinds to get caught. Has anyone else found this? I am considering filing out the dosing chamber to match the discharge shoot properly. Can anyone forsee a problem with doing this?
I removed the last bit of metal on my RR45 chute and delivery into chamber is cleaner with much less retention. Has not affected the operation of this great grinder
Thanks, will do the same, here is a pic showing how much the chamber rim extends above the shute at the moment.
While I am on it has anyone removed the dosing chamber and replaced with a catch cone for grind on demand? I found a picture of one on the web done with a 1.25 litre soft drink bottle cut down and inverted but would like to do it with alloy or stainless for something that looks a little more classy.
