Re: Rancillio MD 40, Mod to non doser?
Fair enough.
I asked because my Macap doser sweeps very clean and I have a routine that gets all the grinds easily and quickly from the chute.
From what you say the MD40 is not so good in this regard.
Good luck with it.

Re: Rancillio MD 40, Mod to non doser?
with the doser there is so much grind left in there and takes ages to get it all out after each grind. I am a little anal about stale grind being left in there, I roast every week and so like fresh coffee, the cleaning process is driving me mad cos I am so pedantic. I think also I am using more grind than I need to because of the amount left in there, approx 1/4 of a PF each time.

You can grind for one cup using a doser model.
Why do you think youd prefer a doserless?

All parts of the grinder will come offOriginally posted by 313D343437373C33263D20520 link=1303528600/0#0 date=1303528600Hi There
I have a Rancilio MD 40, which has a doser, I would like to mod it if possible to remove doser and add a spout, has anyone done this before?
I dont know of any MD 40 mods by others,
Went a similar path as you on a Mazzer Major but decided that a doser model suited me better
I base my preference because I have owned both types.
Is there a genuine reason you are considering it?
