  • Help: Does anyone know what grinder this is?

    Hi,
I have been given this grinder out of a cafe, does anyone know what it is as it does not have any branding on it apart from saying "Made in Italy" and "TIPORR 45"
And is it of any value?

    Thanks
    Darksable

Looks the same as  Gino Rossi RR45. Worth about $800 new, so yes, definitely has value.

Yes GRs are rebadged and sold under numerous names. Parts are ready available.

        Clarifying:

        Tipo RR 45 means
        Type: RR 45.

Yes a Gino Rossi RR 45.

Not clear to me but it looks like the name on the label says:
        CMA SpA

        That means
C.M.A. Pty Limited in our lingo.

Which means it is a Gino Rossi RR45 grinder manufactured for and sold by CMA, which is the manufacturer of Astoria / Wega / San Marino espresso coffee machines.

The large letters CE mean this electrical appliance meets european union electrical standards.

        hope that helps.

Thank you everyone for you replies, really appreciated, I am going to sell it as it is too big for my home needs.
It will need a good cleanup, and probably a new set of burrs, does anyone know what i should look at getting for it?

Looks good cosmetically, what does the dose counter read?

Price could be from $250 - $450, hard to say without seeing it in the metal.

Burrs are only $50, if needed.

Suggest you clean it and present it well, and leave mechanical stuff and burrs to someone else.

The count is totally irrelevant and should not be used either by
                a) a vendor to try and indicate little use to keep the price up OR
                b) a buyer to try and indicate a lot of use to try to get price down......

Every time you pull the lever it notches up another number. People who free dose might pull the lever say 20 times to get a double dose of coffee out, so what does the count prove??????

Cant give an indication of price but that is why I mentioned you should clean up and present at its best for sale. If it isnt all scratched up around the base it is an indication of little use, and it seems to be a relatively new model given the locating fork on the base. Looking good for you!
