The only reason I would get the m4d is to prevent future upgradeitis..
There is no cure known..........only treatment of symptoms ;D
I have visited the sponsors and all great help. But trying to justify the m4d if the m4 is all I need! The only reason I would get the m4d is to prevent future upgradeitis..

I am worried about clumping in the m4d and if I get the m4 I will wish I got the d version...
Kanda, I have the "D" and I certainly dont regret it. I have found clumping [when it does occur] is very minor. I grind into a old yogurt container and give it a quick wisk with a piece of thin brass rod and it is fine. I would love the M7D but at this point in time it is not even in consideration. The M4 & M4D are basically the same grinder dosered & not-dosered.
Macap are excellent grinders and directly comparable with the likes of Mazzer. If you prefer the aesthetics/ergonomics of the Macap over other grinders, then go for it mate. I owned a Macap M4 and a much larger commercial grinder at the same time. Both grinders had new burr-sets (the Macap was brand new) and there was no way I or anyone else in these parts could pick the difference, in the cup.
Quality of build is also excellent and will outlast you if a modicum of maintenance is expended regularly. Best thing of course, is to try and visit one of our Site Sponsors to road-test various grinders at this echelon and then make up your mind from there. Youll know exactly what your buying then.... 8-)
I think i have settled on upgrading to the macap M4. What is the general consensus on this grinder. I have come to this because i prefer the dosser and the screw adjustment,
