Re: Major E or Robur Doser

Ive got a Major E and a Robur E. For the same shot type and dose size the Major is set to 6.8 seconds and the Robur is set to 3.6 seconds.

Fairly fine grind of 19 grams according to my not too accurate kitchen scales.

Cant say Ive noticed an obvious taste difference, but I havent really ever set that experiment up officially.

The only thing I have noticed that has me slightly baffled is the flat burrs give my espresso mottled crema, while the conical rarely if ever does... no idea why. Machine set to same temp and coffee doesnt seem to matter.

Re: Major E or Robur Doser

      Gday Framey...

Thats interesting mate. Do you have any idea how many Kgs each of the burr-sets have had put through them?

The only thing I can think of as to the "mottling" with the Flat Burrs, is maybe to do with the particle size spread difference between the two types... Ive noticed the same thing with my Kony as well. The crema is much more uniform in colour and varies only by a slight colour intensity shift, as the pour progresses.

I like the big round knobs on the adjustment handles..... 8-)

Re: Major E or Robur Doser

        Hope youre well Mal.

The Major has about 72kgs on it. It seems to have an issue with static which can be a tad annoying.

The Robur has only done about 180kgs and has settled in nicely and has no issues with static.

The knobs make a fine replacement for the OEM adjustment pins. Little bit more leverage and who doesnt like colourful knobs
