      Gday all,

I found this little controller that may do the job from jaycar: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AA0346&CATID=&keywords=speed+co ntroller&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keywo rd1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUB CATID=
although again you may need a sparky to fit it.

      Good luck,
      Thomas
      Hi Thomas,

This controller is NOT suitable for Universal Motors, i.e. any mains powered electric motor that has a commutator and carbon brushes. Its really only suitable for the type of motor stated or resistive loads. So, you really need to determine the type of motor fitted to the Sunbeam Grinder before you commit to this particular controller. All the best,

      Mal.

Do you just take the EM0480 grinder into a shop and ask them to fit it?

          Hi CK,

I doubt if there would be an after market, retro installable kit that you could just get someone to fit inside your grinder, there wouldnt be any room. Most after market devices such as this are intended to be installed between the power point and the appliance, in a piggy-back sort of configuration.

Perhaps you could take the grinder into a local licensed electrical appliance repair store and ask them to inspect the innards of the grinder and report back on the type of motor fitted. Once you know that, it would be possible to recommend a possible and suitable controller option. All the best,

          Mal.
