    Re: Choices

Oh yeah, now I get where youre coming from. For a second there I thought you were saying that the lux actually gives you a decent degree of control over particle size for espresso ... we had nightmares trying to get that thing dialled in last year at Maltitude! But Ive gotta say that I dont see how the Lux is really going to be superior to the sunbeam ... interchangeable burr sets and reputedly the same adjustability. I guess the lux is probably a little smaller, if youre going to travel ... and maybe the burr carrier is a little sturdier ... but is it really $70 sturdier?

The steps of the Lux are small enough so as to not be much of an issue....
    ?????!!!!
Luca- I think that if both plunger or drip and espresso grind are required, than the Lux is to my mind the pick of the lower priced grinders and probably superior to the sunbeam.....unless you had a better suggestion?  :-? I dont think such a large adjustment is practical with the challenge....

Keith- you could add the Nemox Lux to your list of possibilities too- if you wish to avoid the worm drive of the Iberital. The steps of the Lux are small enough so as so not be much of an issue....I believe that FC sell them also...

Going on price alone would direct you to the Sunbeam... but on features, I believe the Iberital Challenge has Stepless adjustment and Conical burrset.. and is under $300 - this would be what I would go for if your budget is under $300.

I am a great believer in buying local if you can, so you get he best possible service (after & before sales).....

    However,

If you decide to get into a Challenge & cant get one in Perth, I can supply by mail order and have stock available now.

    Regardz,
    FC.

Yeh, while I own the Sunbeam EM0480 (I paid $169 for it) and can testify its a great grinder, if your budget can stretch further (Mine couldnt), the Iberital Challenge is a good choice.

    Id go for the Iberital.....

If you want to buy one in Perth give BeanzN Machines a ring (in Freo) as Im pretty sure they stock them..... or even better - Im sure some of the site sponsors sell them and would freight one to you - and you would also get great support from them!
