    Hi All,

I appreciate your support Ken, others would not know there have been some rather detailed private emails & forum "converstaions" between us not just here but in other forums.
Whilst on the topic, I must also convey my appreciation to our sponsors - When researching my new machine, the equivavlent of 1000 word essays were regularly exchanged between myself and FC.....and then the phone calls began!

Yes, most of us are on tight budgets....but when it comes to the fickle nature of coffee, I cant stress the importance of customer service to guide you down the right path. 8)

The result speaks for itself when I live in multicultural Melbourne, but purchased my coffee machine from Canberra...

    Thanks FC!

    Regards,

    James

    Hello All,

Just a quick reply - Barazi in Brisbane are selling the Rocky doserless grinder for $350 as their standard list price. I have heard this on four separate occasions (directly and indirectly).

This is not to create a price war - as FC had said, each company has to factor in a number of issues into the sell price of an item - and in Barazis case you pay more for the Silvia, and miss out a lot on the availability of a wealth of knowledge.

I know that I personally would still prefer to purchase from FC or Pinot to support them as they have supported me with my continual queries. ;D

    Ken.

Careful now fellas.... it all depends on anyones individual perception of what a "decent" price is! Taking the shirt of someones back is not a "fair" price but it might be decent for someone.

$400.00 is a decent price for both buyer and vendor, in consideration of the cost price to the vendor, plus the fact that most purchasers want a demo, ask 120 questions, and take about an hour of the vendors shop time to make up their mind, then pay with a credit card where about a further 2% is lost (to the vendor), after the purchaser asks for a discount, and for some coffee beans to be thrown in as a sweetener.

This is not intended to be misunderstood as a winge, complaint, sob story or otherwise, its just a plain statement of fact.

Ken, if Barazi is offering rockies at retail for $350.00, we should all buy them there...and on the basis of that, I wonder if you misheard the information. Then again, the price on the Silvia is $50.00 above the usual RRP, so I guess something has to "give".

If members and onlookers to the CoffeeSnobs Forum would like to ask one of the site sponsors for a price we would be happy to oblige and we will offer the unit at a realistic price given we dont have to play 120 questions with you except if you wish to pay for the phone call! ;D

I for one would be happy to despatch to you by mail order tomorrow if you care to give me a call anytime after 8am, talk over a suitable price and form of payment, and the unit will be delivered to your door in Brisbane on Tuesday (probably sometime in the morning)...couldnt be simpler than that, you dont even have to get in the car and fight the traffic to go somewhere to pick it up....and of course the grinder will be tested before being repackaged and despatched.

Andy - have been offsite for a couple of weeks and appreciate coming back in to find you giving the site sponsors the plug above.

    Regardz to all,
    FC.

I had posted this reply to *another* forum, but have copied it to the best ;D

I have been looking (as it presently is my only hobby) at Rancilio Rockys and Silvias as well. I have found two places so far that stock the Rs, Ss and Trays -

Mocopan - Agents for Rancilio Commercial
    Unit 11, 53 Metroplex Avenue Murarrie QLD 4172 Ph 3899 9177
Prices Quoted - Rocky $450, Silvia $750, Tray $150 (but will do package deal if you really twist their arm)

Barazi - Agents for Bezzera machines (and sell Rancilio domestic)
Shop 5, Cnr Toohey Rd & Denham Tce Tarragindi QLD 4121 Ph 07 3255 9033
Prices Quoted - Rocky $350 (yep, $350), Silvia $799, Tray $120 (but do not do a package deal as such - only throw in accessories, coffee etc).

Both have said that they would be happy to demonstrate for serious purchasers.

    Ken.

Although not in Brisbane, you should talk to one of our site sponsors about buying a new one with real warranty, coffee industry expertise, back-up service and a good price!
