  • Who has a Nemox Lux?

Does the Nemox Lux have the name "Nemox" on the front of the machine? I saw this in the DJ catalogue, but when I searched it on the Net, it doesnt have the name on it. Are they different models?

    Thanks.

Mine has the "Nemox" on the front. I think the Nemox and the Lux are just badged differently. I could be wrong, but every pic Ive seen of "Lux" grinders looks the same as the Nemox.

Yeah ... Im pretty sure that a lot of people sell essentially the same grinder. The Isomac grinders and the unico splendor grinder look like luxes with fancier pants.

There "may" now be a cheaper and better (doesnt scream like a banshee) option from Sunbeam: http://www.coffeegeek.com/forums/worldregional/australasia/192338?LastView=1133485554&Page=2

The ones I am talking about look identical - one without the Nemox badge (or sticker) on the front, its called MACINA caffe LUX, it has NEMOX at the bottom of the box, whereas the one in the DJ catalogue , the picture has the Nemox on the front.

So does anyone know if they are the same??

Oops, its my oversight! The picture on the box has no badge, but the machine inside does have it. I suppose most retailers use the picture on the box, thus the cosmetics difference. Thanks anyway.

              Too right AlMac,

Looks like Sunbeam have paid attention to the areas of importance with this one and appears to be particularly well made. Definitely worth keeping an eye on as a prospect for newbies wanting to upgrade from a whirly-blade thing-a-ma-jig.

Having never used one I kindly suggested to a friend who was after a best cost grinder (originally suggested Lux) that he give the Sunbeam a go. Will have to take a look at it when he picks one up.

Any ideas on when or where that sunbeam grinder will be available? Looks like a good xmas pressie for fledgling snobs!

You can get them from DJ now. Not sure if your local DJ would have them, but its in their current catalogue. The city stores should have them. I read somewhere that someone saw them in Myer as well. Again, probably the city stores.

                      Excellent!
It would look nice next to my EM6900.
Will have to check it out.

Hi all -- Im a newcomer looking for a grinder to go with my Saeco Via Venezia machine. I was all set to get the Lux, especially with DJ having them on sale, but this new Sunbeam looks interesting. Id love to hear from anyone whos picked up one of the Sunbeams, or if anyone has any other suggestions that I should look at.

                          It is only $199.
                          Not bad, I say.

Theres always another option -- elbow grease instead of electricity. A manual burr grinder. Doesnt take much effort to convert 20 grams of beans into powder.
