Re: Ascaso i-mini
We have bought both versions of the Ascaso Home Grinders in as an accessory and adjunct to our DIamond Italia - and found them of exceptional quality and value for money in what they do.
Go to this link for details:

Click on the "Retailers" red button to check out our distributors - who should have stock or can easily access it - as we still have one or two left.

Re: Ascaso i-mini
In a nutshell, I found the grind quality to be quite good - at least on par with the mazzers, et al, if not slightly better. Fit and finish is also quite nice, although I suspect that the plastic button that you press the PF against will chip in short order. Compared with the next level up, the grinder is certainly slower and louder. This is not a grinder to buy to last a lifetime, but if you dont have unrealistic expectations it should serve you admirably.

Re: Ascaso i-mini
Fantastic grinder at the price point, as long as youre not wanting it for multi-use (spinning the worm adjustment for weeks).
Personally Id step up again to a ECA KS or Compak K3 Touch, youll get less fines and less clumping, and a much more even grind - but it is a great grinder for the money. Ive certainly had a play with one a few times at Di Bartoli, and would buy it for myself over the Rocky or Challenge.

Ascaso i-mini
looking around the place for possible one day replacements of my EM450 grinder (I appear to have a good one, 15-18 for a double) and this has popped up, both for price and size.
I havent found much info out there and noticed some sponsors sell them, so are there any being put to service in snob land? if so what are your thoughts, especially in grind quality (derr :P ) and noise wise (3yo gets upset when the EM drowns out the wiggles)
