Re: 1st Grinder : Anyone tried the Hario MS-8N?
Just had a play with the MHE-4C Hario that i got off ebay.
It is fairly slow as you would expect but works well.
Not something I will use at home - more likely to use at work or on holiday.
Observations:
Pros:
- It will do the job
- Not a bad grinder for something like a single aeropress/ siphon or french press.
Cons
- Is fairly messy
- Difficult to clean
- In order to adjust, you have to take the grinding assembly apart, so would make this very difficult for espresso.
Did not drink any coffee from the grind - far too late for me

What is your view on the peugot burr set compare to the Zass? Have you been able to compare side by side?Originally posted by 475B5B445F3E0 link=1231888328/5#5 date=1233714811So I just got back from Japan and brought back a Hario "Slim Ceramic" grinder. Pretty much same as the Skeleton grinder but slimmer. I noticed all the grinders I saw made by Hario are made in China. Better cutters than some of the for looks only grinders that come outta China. I also noticed that the burr carriers had a bit of slop in it compared to the European made Peugeot/Zass etc. I reckon its good for most filter coffee. Pretty average for espresso and I wouldnt recommend them for that purpose. You just dont get the same fine adjustment you require for espresso shots (IMHO).

Im going for the MH-4C. The ex-importer in Perth still has some in stock. Its a bit smaller, but otherwise very similar.

1st Grinder : Anyone tried the Hario MS-8N?
Greetings,
Buying my first grinder and have got my eyes set on the Hario MS-8N which I intend to buy at the same time as the Hario NCA-3 syphon.

Has anyone tried these?
