the Ditting is more the shop grinder for filling bags, right. Could it be effectively used as an on-demand grinder?
Have had one of these for about 16 months now, and yes, you could use it as a doserless grinder, as I do for decaf orders.

mmcoffee, Im envious. These grinders are what I call the Volvo section of grinding equipment... boxy but good. So, sounds like you got what might be the deal of the century! Suggest you *do* replace the burs, but hang on to the old ones - they can be resharpened a couple of times! If you need the name of the supplier, send me a pm.

    Cheers!

It is, in fact made under contract in China,
You mean I can only grind using my watch if it is genuine Swiss made and not one I could buy online from that Spam fellow?

ow if I walked around with a coffee grinder on my wrist... That would make me a real CS...
...or someone who finds it hard to get around

Anyway, back on topic - the Ditting is more the shop grinder for filling bags, right. Could it be effectively used as an on-demand grinder?

I have been told that these grinders run as well as a Swiss watch
    KK
You mean I just went and bought a manual grinder when I could have just used my Longines watch???    :P
No you cant... It is, in fact made under contract in China, thus does not meet the UL and other requirements ;D

Now if I walked around with a coffee grinder on my wrist... That would make me a real CS... Maybe we could market a fob style as well...

Opps... Sorry, thought this was in teh off topic section.... :

well done on the grinder, if it grinds well, definitely a score.....
Even if it doesnt, these are well supported by the manufacturer and Oz distributor, and are so well made that it would be unlikely that anything really significant will be wrong with it. Probably a good clean-up and a set of new burr-plates at the worst.

    Great pickup mate [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

take the 30kgs of coffee, grind it all up and put it in the garden for compost, not likely to be good for much else

Why would you destroy everything when you can get a few dollars back?

mmcoffee, there is a post on this grinder in the section Info/Reviews of Grinders - No Discussions at the top of the menu when you go to coffeesnobs/grinders. It is about 3/4 of the way down the page.

    Travis.
