                    Re: Beating EM0480 static!

Thanks to everyone for the tips on the snout extension (EM-048X) available from Sunbeam. I picked one up FOC on Fri from the Sunbeam office in Auckland. Its made a huge reduction to the mess from grinding.

                      Re: Beating EM0480 static!

Just rang up Sunbeam to request a snout to find out that the ones that they were sending out at no cost were prototypes which are now all gone. They will be available for sale as a spare part from Sunbeam service agents within a month. Part no. EM0480112.

Thumbs up to the customer service department. After being in the call queue for less than a minute I was given the option to be called back when I reached the front of the queue. I received my call back only a few minutes later. I wish other businesses used this method!

Bought the EM0480 for mothers day, yesterday and looks like SB has now included the silicon spout with the grinder. Kudos to SB for realizing and fixing the problem.

Cant wait to get some fresh beans and try the grinder out.

                                Re: Beating EM0480 static!

Thanks for all the tips for stopping the MESS. If I can reduce/stop the mess it will certainly increase the W.A.R. ;D Will try the stainless tub suggested by TassieBean. Might even try making a metal grind guard similar to the one pointed out by Poohjay.

Have found that the silicone spout that came with my EM0480 didnt reduce the mess all that much, just changed where it went. I find the coffee coming out the spout is repelled by the coffee in the PF. It does an about face just above the PF and flies everywhere.

Will let you know how I get on with the mods.

                                Cheers
