          Hi All,

Just a note to say that we have reached the limit of what we can sell at this price. We still have a bunch of Rio branded minis, but they will be going up to a more sane market price and there will be a significant coffeesnobs discount.

We still have some minis to sell at the very low price when packaged with a prosumer machine.

I will be responding to the PMs that everyone has sent in the last few days and we will send out invoices to those who have requested them. Please bear with us over the next few days, as Im doing this at home while Im supposed to be studying for exams!

          Cheers,

          Luca

Or you could add a "coffeesnob grinder badge" to the list in the appropriate post

Great idea. Wouldnt have to be only for this grinder. Any chance, Andy?

                    Re: Venezianos Xmas Mazzer Clearout!

More information that purchasers should be aware of: The documentation with the grinders says that they were manufactured in 2000. They are brand-new, not having been used during their warehousing in the US and our bench tests have revealed no problems with any of them tested so far. In fact, we are using one of the Majors at First Pour now.

If the badging or the manufacture date are problems for anyone, we will gladly refund deposits.

                    Cheers,

                    Luca

                          Hi Luca,

I have my grinder now...but just out of curiosity...have they stopped production of the manual switch and replaced it with the timed one?

No wushoes- the mini-timer is a separate, more expensive model....The mini manual is still produced and identical to the one you have other than for the rebranding. The current versions have a much more sexy (albeit still absolutely useless :) metal finger guard to protect the outlet chute rather than the plastic one in your unit.

Its the second thing I throw in the bin...straight after the useless undersized tamper

                              Hi David,

Bummed out not to meet you the other day - baristi who participate in the forums usually are a great bunch!

Mazzer will basically build anybody whatever they want, as long as they satisfy minimum order quantities, are prepared to give them the required lead up time and pay up-front. I gather that the major American importer decided to stop importing the manual switch minis and replace them with timers because of public liability reasons. With the timer, the most damage that can happen is that a whole chamber gets ground and the timer shuts it off. With the manual switch, obviously you can leave the grinder running indefinitely. Of course, the manual switch is cheaper and might be more robust ... although any mazzer is probably just going to laugh and shrug off domestic use ;P

                              Cheers,

                              Luca
