Re: Quick question from someone who doesnt really understand grinders.

Im really embarressed to say...it was one of those cheap Breville Spice n Coffee Grinders... You see, Im kind of new to the snobs and used what i could until something else came along (even though I got the Hottop delivered a couple of weeks before)...and to top it off, I managed to pick up a preloved Super Jolly as well last week - it doesnt rain, it pours. The GR is quieter than the SJ (maybe it needs a service?).

Lucky you having a sparky in the family...meanwhile Im just grinding most days what I think Ill use in a morning (before work/weekends) and then dosing from there. I know its not going to be as fresh as what it could be but its still so much nicer than the preground stale stuff from the shops...

Whilst the electronic doser is a bit of a pain...Im really liking this Gino Rossi grinder. Its my first and am really impressed by its speed and quietness.  Sure its a big beast, it stands almost as tall as me when its on my kitchen bench...but it sure looks grand...and my coffees are now tasting better than what they ever did
What were you previously using Mich?

I havent actually put any beans through mine yet. First I want to be sure I can make the necessary mod to manually overide the autofill. I will get my dad-in-law, who used to be a sparky, to help just to make sure I dont zap myself & to keep AM happy ;D

Picked up my bargain basement grinder at lunch and all seems fine. It was brand new with all the wrapping from the factory, had not been touched from what I could tell.

The seller is a legitimate business, surprised I had not heard of them previously as theyd been around for a number of years. Service agents for a well known brand.

Ive not used a grinder like this - has a dosing chamber and electronic doser (no lever). Has 2 dosing buttons for single & double dose. Dose quantity adjusted the same way as a manual dosing chamber.

Not sure if its going to suit me though its really designed for busy commercial applications. The dosing chamber is filled automatically with auto shut-off. Naturally I dont want to grinder 300g to make 2 coffees. Am open to suggestions of how I may be able to work around this otherwise I may have to move it on to someone who will have use for it. Not sure if I could sell it on CS as I dont think it would be in line with policy, even though I dont want to profit from it.

Both Caffeine Junky and I have had correspondance from the seller and I think CJ was going to pick his up today.  Im interstate so am unable to check it out.  It appears that the seller has his own coffee business. ..but why hed have so many new grinders I dont know?
Ummmmmm An online shop front only ?

Mad to flood the market; with what in effect, was an one day sale - Unless main shop was going out of business and an urgent need for cash flow ?

Interesting, the way I (My wife and AMD say I am too much like - Sheldon *TBBT*) get anal about the detail and how a question might be phrased etc.

If it too good to be true... Then guess what..
I believe in that too. Although occassionally Im willing to take an educated risk but tell myself Im not allowed to get upset if it does end up being a dodgy...a bit like gambling, only bet what you can afford to lose.

Only 2 weeks ago someone was selling a brand new Sunbeam Artista EM5900 and EM0450 combo pack for $60 in evil bay. It was posted at 1:30am and I happened to be up at that time so took a chance. All worked out fine, it was an unwanted gift and the seller had a solid record.

Funny thing is, the next day a guy at work asks me if I happen to have a coffee machine I wanted to sell, to which my response was boy do I have a deal for you!. Hes a great guy so although Id plan to re-sell at a profit, I sold it to him for what it cost me with delivery. Saved him around $450 and made an awesome Mothers Day present for his wife.

I had one of the winning bids too...hopefully it is all legal and ok!
My advice is DO NOT PAY yet. If and when I pick up mine and all is good, Ill then report back here.

    So any winners?
Yes I had one of the winning bids. I am very suspicious, where would one even get that many grinders (legally) and why would they want to sell them all at once hence reducing the price?

Have sent a msg asking for a pick up address.  Unless I get a positive response I certainly wont be sending any $$ thru.
Ya a bit suss... And while a few had different times..

A few sec apart smacks of Page refresh errors and or possible hacked account.

Previous history (buy and sell) was also worth reviewing..

I guess some one will find out soon enough...

There are eight Gino Rossi CC45A grinders (claimed new in unopened boxes) lined up on a certain auction site.  All with bids of $300 odd & all finishing in the next six hours.  I detest the things but the price is right.
So any winners? Did Tashie grab a bargain? Noticed that they listed as a Gino Rossi CC45 Adel. Anyone know what the electronic dosing is all about? Does that mean it refills after a set number of uses of the doser?
