  • Filter Basket Funnel

    Hi

Recently linked from this site there was a YouTube movie showing the use of a pump espresso machine.  (I cant find the reference)

In the picture there was what looked like a propriety silicone fairly short funnel (pict was red) that fitted to the top of the basket in the PF handle.  Allowing a controlled overfill.

Now my wifes approval rating (WAP) is slanted heavily towards a tidy kitchen.  My yoghurt carton funnel fails many times as it is too tall and gets snagged on the dispenser or splits!.

Our sponsors do not seem to have these - I hope I am wrong.    I would be grateful for any direction

    hopefully

It was a link to Orphan Espresso in the USA, they are the manufacturers of them. They are aluminium and sized to suit various machines including 58mm.

thats them I am adding a Pav sized one soon when I order a few bits from them. I have made up a roughy from a yogurt tub to try the fluffy grind procedure with light tamp but it is still awkward.

              Actually... :

I rather like the Yellow Silicone ones that KK found; could be cut down to suit pretty well any basket by the looks of em... 8-)

Yes I do that - but it ends up a fairly flimsy affair.
And maybe thats all I can do.
It would be nice to have something better. But better may not fit.

                  Ah! Well just a thought.

                    Re: Filter Basket Funnel

Flimsy, yes, but mine has been in use for a year and is proving very durable.

I used one of the translucent yoghurt cups rather than the white ones with printing--could they be less fragile?

                      Thanks all
                      Quick foot note

I have settled for a plastic disposable cup top and bottom cut off and a strip of white electricians tape around the outside to give some permanence - also the tape grips the basket quite firmly

Looks good, works well, durable as well.
