Re: Breville BCG800 Smart Grinder
Hi all, first time post - long time addict!
I recently found that my Gaggia MM grinder wasnt all that it cracked up to be, even after I modded it to go as fine as possible. I found this out by buying a Silvia. Nothing really to comment that hasnt been said before about her, apart from it looking better in real life than in pics!
So I noticed a few major dept stores had specials relating to this type of homeware. Went in and couldnt find stock anywhere. Went into another more specific store and got a price match. I would have purchased via a sponsor, as I did with the Silvia - thanks jetblack, but these were desperate times, and got a similar - but not better price.
So I got it home, got a visual approval from my wife (the grinder, not me!). Was then going to jump into explaining about shims and why Id need them on a brand new grinder. Fired it up, wound it to the finest setting and choked the life out of the Silvia. Actually even choked the grinder on a 1 week old PNG peaberry.
Currently only 2-3 steps toward the espresso side, and just working out my techniques!
Very happy with the grinder, the PF start stop is great. and it is so much cleaner and quieter than the Gaggia MM!
Cheers!
