Re: Dosing from a Rocky Doser
I think it is meant to separate your clicks into 7g doses. However, I didnt find it useful when making 2 or 4 coffees at a time, so I removed it. And since you cannot adjust the grams per click, I thought Id just try life without it. That was about 2 years ago now.
So - yes, Rocky can happily exist without it.
We are going to have a number of people at our place n the next few weeks, so I am toying with the idea of putting it back in to see if it helps at all when I grind a large volume (IE: 10+ coffees in quick succession).

Re: Dosing from a Rocky Doser
There are many who remove the separator from the doser....Is there a purpose behind this piece of stainless? or can Rocky happily exist without it? I wonder what is was originally designed to do?

Re: Dosing from a Rocky Doser
I just grind what I need for each shot.
Ive removed the separator and done the tape sweep mod.
Grind
3 clicks into PF
Tap on bench
3 more clicks into PF (grinder is now empty)
Tap, level, tamp, load.

Re: Dosing from a Rocky Doser
I have this doser as well. I use a scientific method here - do a half-pull on the lever - not quite to the click, and get a bit more. If its too much, I scrape it in to a flat dish that I keep underneath the doser tray to catch crumbs.
Cheers.
