Re: Grinding for long periods...
Spot-on Trentski... 8-)
All domestic and most commercial grinders are designed with a very low duty cycle, i.e. a short On time and usually a longer Off time with electric motors that are NOT continuously rated. Grinders that are designed for continuous use have much heavier duty motors in them, which wouldnt look out of place on a workshop Bench Grinder come to think of it... ;D

Re: Grinding for long periods...
There was a thread about this recently.
Short answer is, these grinders arent designed for grinding 500 grams in one go.
Even the big ones like a Super Jolly are only rated for 40 seconds continuous grinding then 40 seconds rest

Grinding for long periods...
ive got a imat napolitana combo with an built in grinder and recently have been grinding beans for a mate of mine. my question is... would grinding for longer periods of time burn out the motor or cause any issues? e.g, bag of 500gms?Tags: None
