You have requested assistance in obtaining an effective funnel.
I find your responce to my solution of making a far superior funnel compared to comercial ones quite dismissive.
Have another look at my suggestion -it works and works very well.

As far as I know you can only order them from Orphanespresso direct, the shipping to Australia is less than $10 as I recall.

ok, so a few home made ones and a few bought from oe. might make one up before thinking about buying one.
So they are only available from oe?
do people prefer ones that make it higher, or wider?
Next job- scouring through kitchen look for 44/45mm cups/jars etc!

    Hi All,
Do any site sponsors sell these in Australia? If not does anyone know if they are sold here or do you purchase via the website?
    Cheers

I have made a funnel out of an old E61 shower screen and group gasket.

Simply cut the bottom off the shower screen to make a funnel. *
Make the funnel as deep as possible by cutting as close as possible to its screen. This is easily done using one of the thin cutoff wheels on a 100mm angle grinder and finished off with emery paper to smoothen the cut edges.
The old group gasket is then installed around the funnel and slid to its top. It's position would be the same as it was when used originally on an E61 group.

The gasket provides a support for the funnel to sit on top of the portafilter and it's weight adds to its stability during use.*

To use the funnel is placed on top of portafilter and the coffee grids placed into the filter to a level above the top of the portafilter. The portafilter is then tapped to compress the grinds. The funnel is then removed and turned upside down to be used to level the coffee to the top of the portafilter.*
Obviously enough coffee grinds are placed in the filter to active a level surface after leveling.

The advantage of this method is that it only takes one set of taps and it achieves a very consistent density of coffee across the the width of the puck.
If your coffee grinder produces clumps these can be broken up with a thin wire before removing the funnel.

I use a trimmed yoghurt carton. It's perfect.

Trim the bottom up until it just fits into the PF. Then trim the top to the height you want.

Well. There is always a little gap... But a little vertical tap on the bench sorts it.

I also have an OE one, it's not funnel shaped though just an extension going up from the pf, I find it's more about keeping all the coffee in the pf rather than dispersing it.

As far as I know you can only get them from OE, which I don't think is an issue, they ship to Australia. I was lucky enough to come across someone selling theirs on here though and snapped it up

Yep, will have a play around to see what i can come up with.
Orphanexpresso are out of stock on the 45mm size anyway.
