hehehehehe.....I have one that's bigger and falls into the category of "That's not a grinder....THIS is a grinder" !

Give me a call if you want to discuss....I may be able to help, although I'm sure you are already on the way to understanding what's going on there.....

    Cheers,
    A.

Well after pulling apart and putting it back together again it's looking more like the anchor (sadly).

It grinds from turkish talc to half beans... all at the same time. It's almost as if one of the burrs is warped and I doubt it did this bad a job at the factory so maybe someone before me cooked it.

Still havn't given-up on it but now it needs bearing-blue and a day's time (that I don't have spare) so it can sit in the corner for a little while longer (or until I have another 60 kilos to grind at short notice).

I bought this secondhand for a commercial job about 6 months ago but the grind size was a little random, this is the first chance I've had to pull it apart and see why. The good news is the burrs are sharp and it might just be an alignment issue... ask me again in a dozen hours if its a boat anchor or grinder.

...and yeah, it is a ridiculously over the top toy

That's funny, I didnt even notice you could read the ruler.

Sorry guys, the ruler was a tradeshow freebie in 2007 and is a one-off. The company read my name tag as I walked past the stand and by the time I got to the end of their stand thay had printed the company name on a ruler and someone handed it to me. A great trick and a good way to make you turn around and give their stand a better look.

It's a handy alloy ruler too... gets used all the time.

My first thought was "When can we buy them through BeanBay"... I actually need a new ruler.

started a topic Fast flat burr grinder? This one is!

Fast flat burr grinder? This one is!

There is always discussion about the specs of grinders on CoffeeSnobs.
Flat burr grinder or conical burr grinder and then there is banter about the motor size, RPM sometimes even torque.

How's this for a BIG, fast and high output flat burr set?
(please excuse the phone camera pic)

The above burr and carrier weighs 25.5kg!

This is the otherside of the set and the central screw feed...

And I've seen much bigger grinders than this 3 phase one including one that looked like family sized washing machine but I've not seen inside the otehrs.

Everything on this (ex-Toby's) grinder is very solid and made to grind far more volume than I'm ever likely to put through it!
Working...
