  • Compak K3 Touch dissembly - how to clean burrs?

I've googled this on the net and this forum to no avail. I've only managed to remove the black plastic grind adjuster thing at the top by removing the three screws. How do I further pull the K3 apart to brush the burrs?

    Cheers

Just unscrew the top burr carrier in the coarse direction now.

Was cleaning my Mazzer today too. Spent an hour trying to screw back the top burr carrier in the clockwise direction and it would not work!

I was spewing...What an idiot I was after I finally got it. Just a note. CORRECT direction for removing is clockwise.

To tighten: ANTICLOCKWISE! should have read the label.

I got to senior member status just by telling people ( for the second time, in 2 different threads) that grinder burr carriers have left hand threads.
The info is here on the site................. just use the search function! ;-)

The large bronze ring? It puts a lot of resistance when I rotate it (just like when I'm adjusting the grind size), so I was a bit afraid to keep going in case I broke it

            ...and as to "cleaning" burrs.

Honestly, I would advise you to put it back together and leave it alone. You dont need to do that, and if you do manage to get it apart then get it back together properly, there will be no discernible difference in the character of the brew that could ever be attributed to that. And you do run the risk of getting stuck not being able to get it back together properly.

            Hope that helps.
