Mazzer will have no issues with the largeness of this bean.

This is where I got mine from. I am good friends with the owner and he was generous to give me a trial of it green to roast for myself.

    Definitely NOT from Starcrap.

    Evening Linda,

Believe it or not, made myself a coffee about an hour ago and the Mazzer refused to digest one single bean, reckon it was 15mm long by 12 wide, enormous, bit of poking with a chop stick got the burrs to grab it.
I've never seen beans as big as this batch of NM and I've been at this game for more years than I care to divulge.

Ground some of this roast this morning, unlike the Rocky my Mazzer Mini handled it without any problems.

Only two days post roast, very chocolatey with lots of almost jellyish crema, will be interesting to see how it develops over the next few days.

Yelta, can I ask what blends do you do with these? I find they are good as a S.O.
Not familiar with Nicaragua Diamond Linda, Googled it and got hundreds of references to Starbucks.

I used approx 60% Maragogype, 30% Yemen and 10% Indian Robusta, only roasted it yesterday, will probably try it tomorrow.

Have roasted it as a SO a long time ago, to be truthful don't even recall what it was like, what I do recall is that because of the size of the beans the Rocky I had at the time had a lot of trouble grinding them, Will be interesting to see how the Mazzer handles them.

started a topic Nicaragua Maragogype and grinders.

    Nicaragua Maragogype and grinders.

Roasted some of these in a blend I put together yesterday.

I had forgotten just how big they are, they're enormous, no wonder some grinders have trouble digesting them.
Working...
