    Spring has sprung, here in Moonta the weather over the past 3 days has gone from cold and miserable to very pleasant 27c today, along with higher temps has come lower humidity and the need to grind that little bit finer.

    In my Mazzer Mini I've had to take the grind down 3 full segments on the dial in 3 days, pretty significant when my maximum adjustment during the winter months tends to be about half a click in either direction.

    So, as well as a thermometer for milk temperature, I'll now need to use a barometer for grind setting!
    OR...
    Can we perhaps use the grind setting as a barometer??

    But you are right Yelta, even here in the Hunter Valley my Mazzer is edging its way finer. (Except for the Maui Mokka strangely enough)

        Depends where you live, in our area today it was approx 38%, can get as high as 80% mid winter.

          I have noticed that when we had the heavy rain in perth recently, I had to adjust my grind setting corser by 2 lines on the SJ...

          when I tried to explain to my friend on the adjustment required, he was just shaking his head, and called me a coffee geek

            Few realise how much humidity affects the grind setting.

            As far as friends are concerned, I don't get into nuts and bolts conversations re coffee with them, just graciously accept their compliments on your great coffee.

              When its over 65% RH here, I can dump some 3 to 5 day old beans in the hopper and get a good pour going on, only to come back a few hours later and the same setting will be a complete choker. Amazing how they can take the moisture out of that little bit of air in hopper so quick.

                I've had to adjust mine 2 clicks finer in the past 4 days and a single click in the 3 days before that and the EM0480 has a significant difference in grind per click. Previously with any given beans it has been maybe 2 clicks in the 3 or 4 weeks I have the beans. Weather has improved markedly in the week since my pressure gauge showed I wasn't grinding fine enough.
