Hey Guys, interested in some opinions on the following:
I recently upgraded my Breville 800 to a EM6910. I modified my Delonghi KG100 conical burr grinder so it could grind finer by 2 incriments. With good fresh beans I am consistently getting 30 - 40 second honey like pours that i am very happy with - way better than i could ever get on my old breville
Problem?: i have just noticed that when i run the grinder with no beans and turn the adjustment i can hear faint metal on metal sound only when i get into my 2 extra increments - it gets louder as i adjust finer. Is it normal for empty grinders to make this sound on their finest settings or are my burrs paying a high price for good shots....
for some beans (like decaf) it feels like i cannot currently grind fine enough so i am considering modifying kg100 by another 2 increments - but i am a bit scared ill start a fire or completly wreck my grind...
