    Not rash…
    "Learns by experience!"

I'm very much like that myself … as my own 'overflowing p/f" experience demonstrates

The real art is learning how to do it while:
    A) not incurring extra expense
    B) breaking things as you go
    C) not being able to put things back together…

That is the art form for those of us so wired!

    Happy brewing
    Matt

Thanks all. Have ordered a new static screen so problem solved. I wont be doing that again, even though I found the information regarding taking the screen off on this forum.
Ill make sure I ask a few more questions in future!

Static screen is needed. The finger guard not so much. To get around the static screen I use the brush and a lens blower.

    That's the key of course...

We're lucky enough where we are that removing the screen is not a problem - No static issues to worry about...

Thanks talkcoffee I agree also. I wish I had not removed the screen now!

Talk Coffee, would you have a screen in parts somewhere or do you think you may be able to fashion something similar that I could replace it with, for a price?

    Agreed,

If it wasn't required, Mazzer wouldn't spend the Euro required to incorporate it.

Some have experimented with removal of the top left corner, but no screen = static and flyaway coffee- particularly in dry environmental conditions.

    Hi Nate
I have a mazzer too - and also tried removing the static screen and guard to aid cleaning. Grounds went everywhere! So put it all back in
So now no probs - why fix what ain't broke!
    Cheers Matt

    Mazzer Mini E Dramas

    Hi all,

My new Mazzer Mini E dozerless has been working great and with no problems until now. I have removed the finger guard and static screen and since changing to super fresh coffee beans this week the Mazzer seems to be spitting the coffee everywhere out of the shoot, resulting in coffee being thrown nowhere near the vicinity of the portafilter.

I am producing great coffees which is a plus. I am wondering by removing the static screen if this is the problem regarding the spitting or is it the moisture content in the fresh beans that could be causing this?

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Regards,

    Nate
