I suspect some cafe deals come with a Mazzer. e.g. Some roasters "highly recommend" a particular brand of espresso machine (I "think" Tobys Estate for example urges people to use La Marzocco or Kees van der Westen machines, paired with a Mazzer grinder). This patterns likely follows elsewhere so could be we see a lot of Mazzers because it's connected to a machine or bean supply kind of commercial deal. Good grinders, but have had electrical faults with two over the years, but still a fantastic brand IMO

    Did they not always?

    I'm seeing a lot of K10s around.

I have a feeling it will just be Mazzers and cockroaches left after the end of the world.

Maybe they have a "customised" version ?
I have also seen K10s in use in GJ 's outlets

Hmm. Not one I'd be putting in a McCafe (even thought it's an awesome grinder). There is no safety to prevent operation of the grinder when the hopper is removed. Too much risk of a pimply 14 YO removing his/her fingertips on the augur over the conical burr set. It's a grinder for specialist use...

If they have standardized on that grinder, then maybe that will help balance things .

I'd suggest that it's more that little has changed. Mazzer has always had a substantial proportion of the retail coffee market.

Every cafe in my business park (4 of them) has a Mazzer. So yep, have to agree apocalypse is coming.

Not if my Macap or Gino Rossi can help it.

They are definitely up there in terms of industry standards! But there is definitely room for improvement. Hopefully, there will be plenty of new players to come.

So no, not the be all and end all.

I think they look like some kind of retro robot army out of Dr Who waiting to rise and take control when we are at our weakest. ie: before our morning coffee.

Hillarious, so true.....Funnily enough, I came home from the office tonight to find one in my kitchen. hahaha. I have a Super Jolly and love it. :-)
I think Mazzer grinders will outlive our generation and may be the last machines standing on earth when the end of the world arises.
