    Hi Luke,

We had no problem at all in comprehensively choking an Alex Leva.

Must admit, I can't be bothered grinding for ages by hand and then starting again after a dud shot- but it will do it and easily.

I use my Lido 1 exclusively for espresso. Superb consistency and makes a great espresso.

+1 Thanks Chris for getting these babies out so quickly.

Mine arrived on Friday and have been using it over the weekend and am so impressed with how easy it is to grind and the quality of grind!

It's big and has some weight, but its solid! Absolutely love it!

A quick check of workshop odd and sods bottles reveals a plastic Sanitarium peanut butter jar will fit. There must be many others out there. A quick visit to op shops and tip shops should reveal more.

While offering a robust alternative for travel use, a downside for some might be the increased static from a plastic jar - on the other hand this can help remove chaff and other fines.

Although the Lido 1 was brilliant I am loving the fit and finish of the Lido 2 and it's more accessible adjustability.

Shouldnt really be talking bout the LIDO2 IMHO.....

There's a LIDO3 from SCAJ, found this thread off CG....

Doug and Barb at OE have confirmed that the LIDO 3's plastic anti-static jar will be available to buy separately at some point. I've been using a prototype of the anti-static jar with my LIDO 2 for over a month now, and it works pretty well. Also, it's very light.

Which is better lido2 or 3?,

IMHO i think the 3 is better for travel... other than that no obvious comparisons yet... Have to wait for them to release the lido3 and wait for reviews to pile...

I have been using the Lido2 all week for espresso duties and while its a bit of a work out on a medium roast and the ergonomics of the whole process can be a bit of a pain at first, if your only pulling 1 to 2 shots a day or here and there its not a problem at all.

As for grind / cup quality running fine grinds with 18g VST, I have been very very impressed, it has surpassed my expectations.
The grounds are reasonably fluffy, have little to no clumping and easy to handle. Great middle of the road flavour profile, very even looking naked extractions.

Grinding lighter roasts for filter brewing is very easy and quick. Tastes great.

Overall, it sets a pretty high standard for an entry level grinder option, I would take it over the small electric consumer appliance conical every time.

I've been using the Lido 2 this week. It's been brilliant. Beautifully made, ergonomics are just fine (I grind standing up with the catch jar on my hip). The results for Kalita Wave 155 are wonderful. It produces wonderfully sweet and smooth results for pour over. The only thing that is unfortunate about my experience is that I had no idea that Chris at Talk Coffee would be bringing them in. I ended up buying direct from Orphan Espresso and paid a fortune for shipping (if not clear already I paid a lot more than what Chris is charging locally). In any case it's a fantastic device and I enjoy every time I use it. Many of my work colleagues are enjoying the results as well.

Been enjoying playing with my Lido this week - awesome grinder

First round for espresso yesterday. Measured out 24g beans, set it to 10 marks from zero for espresso as the instructions said, and nailed a perfect pour. Hardest thing was transferring from the jar to the triple basket! Need that modded plastic cup
Still dialling in for other methods, but currently working on 10 notches for espresso as mentioned, and 14 to give me my syrupy thick aeropress - and probably drip too.

This is a great grinder overall.

                        Couple of pics…
                        Cheers Matt

The AeroPress funnel works quite well for this sort of thing too...

Was pondering that very thing just last night! We've got a jam funnel too…

Well, was looking at taking away this beast on holidays and 4wd/Camping trips, and stumbled across the perfect travel solution at Super Chump Auto for about $35. A little bit deeper than it needs to be, but a perfect Pelican to suit the size exactly was quadruple the price

Not ideal for hiking, I'll freely admit, but great for car/van/boat trips!
