I just ground up my morning v60 drip, around 13g, with my lido 1 and it was about 60 turns. I believe aero press is similar to drip grind. I think the lido 2 has a slightly more aggressive burr so perhaps a little less. Only other thing is there is a lot of variation on what grind size people prefer, as you can see comparing between my and DBC's post (~ 20 turns vs my 60!!)

For comparison I had the lido set 1.25 revolutions from zero. Manual says 3/4 to 1.5 is the drip range. I'm nearly always around the bottom (coarser) end of this range, I think the Americans who designed it like really strong drip.

My apologies - I am human. Wayyyyyyyy under guestimated! Time was right, but number of turns was way out! For 20g espresso, around 100 turns (but shows how easy it is - I've never even bothered counting! Did this morning though).

So, compared to the Porlex sounds much faster, but it is still a reasonable arm workout. I can do 2-3 doubles back to back fine - but much over that you'd start getting lactic acid buildup!

So 60 for drip/plunger etc sounds about right.

      Sorry for the bum steer!

Trying to work out whether to upgrade the Porlex before I go to NZ later in the year.
There are a couple of decent YT videos reviewing the Lido 2 and 3.

This one does a side by side review

The vid claims the Lido 3 is easier to grind with (ie turn the handle) and looks to be the better option for portability, coming with a folding handle and a carry bag.

No worries, Matt. They all seem considerably quicker than the Porlex. Now my challenge is to weigh up the pros and cons of going for the Lido 3 of the Lido E-T. My next trip will be purely aeropress use, but their might be some advantage to to the E-T for cases where I have my Bacchi (which takes an espresso grind). Hmmmmm.

Apologies for posting in the Lido 2 thread......there doesn't seem to be a Lido 3 thread (though there is an Lido E one).

FWIW I haven't found the Lido 2 any problem for mainly espresso use. I leave it at one setting and use dose/tamp to deal with bean aging and changes. I think the 3 has a finer adjustment thread (allowing for finer adjustments - but I don't adjust anyway ) and a finer burr set - easier on the arm but a little slower I'd guess?

Whichever way you go - you wouldn't be disappointed! (they're a camping Robur in my book

                Good morning Coffeesnobs.
My Lido 2 arrived yesterday with massive thanks to Chris at Talk Coffee. 25 hours from ordering to receiving and even some beans as well... I must rest the beans, I must rest the beans, I must rest the beans.
It hasn't made it past espresso duties yet, which wasn't the plan but I was shocked at the quality of the grind and quicker/easier to grind than I expected. Can't wait until the burrs are seasoned!
Due to the price difference it is unfair to compare this grinder to my Skerton but I didn't expect the gap to be so large, foolish on my behalf.
Will use it for espresso until the weekend and then give it a run with the V60, to be honest I am very excited about it and can see it being used for much more than pourover and syphon in the house.
