      there is a known technique ( WDT ?) for spraying a few droplets of water onto the beans in the hopper to prevent static.

      I also tried to tap on the side of the portafilter but I couldn't get it to work...

      have you tried simple quick "jiggling" of the PF as it fills

      PS do any grinders fit vibrating PF holders ?? ... Seems it might a useful feature .

        I know you don't want to hear this but I think you may have to spend money to solve your problem, which doesn't seem fair when you have a great but expensive grinder. You may need to buy another group handle, preferably the naked type, or some sort of funnel or some sort of modification to your handle.
