BCG800 grind adjustments

When I adjust the grind on my Breville smart grinder (BCG800) I find it takes 2 "steps" or clicks (so to speak) for it to move 1 mark on the digital display....

Can someone tell me if the grinder is adjusting (in whatever direction) on these steps / clicks between the actual movement of the lcd display bar...

Yes it is. The way it works is that the adjustment wheel has a small pinion gear that directly adjusts the lower burr cog, much like any other grinder.

The difference is that the Smart Grinder has a potentiometer inside the pinion gear so that when it is turned to adjust the grind, it sends information to the LCD which you see as the little arrow moving.
