Baratza Preciso or Breville Smart Grinder Pro?

I recently purchased a new Baratza Preciso Grinder, after much research, reading reviews & forum posts. I have yet to set up and use. Cost was around $370.
I noticed Myer have the Breville Smart Grinder Pro on EOFY sale for $199. Now i'm wondering if I should have just got this grinder instead, as much cheaper and seems to be of equivalent spec. I can still return the Baratza. Wondering thoughts of others on the forum on which avenue to take? Noted the Breville has 2 years warranty, compared to only 1 year on the Baratza. I will be using the grinder for mostly pour over, but potentially adventure into espresso sometime in the future. Is $170 extra justifiable for the Baratza over Breville?

My opinion only from a couple of years back: For pour over (and cold steep/ drip and plunger) the Baratza* / Mahlkonig Preciso is one of the very best "prosumer grinders" I know (even beats my Mahlkonig Vario gen2's). For espresso the Smartgrinder is very close / perhaps even a whisker better. However, you may have a newer version as I believe there may be a gen2 Preciso now.

Baratza*: it must be a parallel import, the Mahlkonig is actually the Australian & European model. I would check your warranty very carefully!

Wow....2 Brevilles for the cost of a Precisio. One for espresso, one for other. Big decision? Not really. The Precisio is at least 75% of the grinder that the Breville and will probably last just as long.

For $370, I'd spend another hundy and buy something which won't go pop. The other two in all likelihood will.

Whilst not the same model, it is still a good look inside the same brand. It is also not normal for this forum that very little help is offered - and yet if you were to post a problem with a breville I would bet there would be a lot more help - should tell you something.

I agree with Chris - spend a little more and get something like a Compak, or Macap. Or just spend half on a breville....
