Experimented with plastic water fountain cups until I got the right depth and width, then rolled a couple of layesr of duct tape around it to stop it cracking - that was 3 years ago - still using he same one.

Definitely have a high quality bean. Roasted a week ago today. I will look into a yogurt cup for now, thanks guys

It's generally static electricity that causes this. And this can be caused by a few different things as KG has pointed out above. The most common causes when grinding for espresso are a very dark roast, a lower quality bean/roast, and low humidity at the time of grinding.
I always use a funnel when dosing and since I've been using it I've wondered why I didn't start doing so a long time ago. Mine is home made from a plastic cup, but if you want something pretty you'll wan to look at the OE funnels or the CoffeeCatcha.

The beans, their freshness, the weather, the grind setting. Some beans grind 'cleaner' than others. It's just the way it is.

If it's too messy for you invest in an OE dosing funnel or use a cut yoghurt cup.

    I have an M2M also.
