...judging from the site description it seems to be the ultimate domestic filter grinder short of a shop grinder like a ek43 or any other shop grinder for that matter.
baratza forte is apparently a domestic electric grinder with a filter focus. judging from the site description it seems to be the ultimate domestic filter grinder short of a shop grinder like a ek43 or any other shop grinder for that matter.
personally i'm all for the lido 2 if your a hand grinder sort of guy, and my kony seems to do a pretty damn good job of filter grinds (bimodal apparently becomes more unimodal once you coarsen up the grind)
alas the forte BG doesnt seem to be available here. IMO if im on a budget breville's SG would be a viable option. otherwise a mazzer mini should do a good job and any better you'll be looking at a $1500-2000 shop grinder
Lots of possibilities within that budget range.
Do you have a decent grinder that would suit espresso? If you don't, maybe you could look ahead a bit, to a time when you may acquire an espresso machine and focus in on a Macap M2M or similar quality (small steps) stepped grinder.
