I have the nemox version, grind speed is quite quick. I would estimate 15 to 20 seconds for a double ? Don't have the machine here to test but it's not slow.
If the burrs are sharp something is not right.
Cheers

Are the paddles still there and in good nick? I know that they can break off sometimes, my old EM0480 had this issue when I bought it.

I certainly can't last that long for my coffee either.Originally posted by GreenBeanGenii View PostIn fact I might have passed out waiting for the beans to be ready such is the longing for Java in the morning
The question is whether only the burrs need replacing or whether there is an issue with the motor (doesn't sound like it's struggling).
Assuming it is only burrs, what would the grind time be with new ones?
Going from 15 secs to over 45 is going to be a pain, even while on holiday.
Less than 45 secs and I may consider new burrs worth the investment. (around $75 I think)

Big brother has one of these on holiday duties. Grind time is no way as long as yours. In fact I might have passed out waiting for the beans to be ready such is the longing for Java in the morning
Baby Breville grinder I use is faster..

Quaha Napoletana Grind Speed
I recently picked up a Quaha Napoletana in need of some TLC, hoping to turn it into the holiday machine.
After some minor repairs it all seems to be working correctly.
However to grind 17g of beans takes a good 1 and a half minutes.
This compares with 15 secs for my Iberital De Recanvis, set to a very comparable grind, with comparable results from the finished shot.
I know comparing the two grinders is like comparing apples and watermelons but I thought an extra 75 seconds with the Napoletana seems awfully long.
I opened up the grinder to take a look at the burrs. They seem OK, not razor sharp, but in reasonable nick.
And the grind comes out uniformly fine. Is this just normal?
