Personally I'd like a used EK43 from someone who keeps breaking the shear plate and wants it off the counter.

Well, the Macap M2M is good and affordable and easy to clean.

I've been wondering the same thing; need to downsize from Espresso machine, and wouldn't mind reinvesting some of that money into a grinder upgrade (currently have a rocky doserless) What are recommendations for the typical upgrade?

Just a reminder that most espresso grinders have short duty cycles and shouldn't be used to grind a couple of hundred grams non stop

Maybe a better question to ask, would a Macap mc4 grind better and hold up longer than say a Baratza Virtuoso for dip.

Second the above - any good quality grinder should do all brew methods well
Unless the question you are asking is – will an espresso grinder be better than other grinding methods - eg coffee whirly chopper etc?
Cheers Matt

I use a Macap M2M for espresso, drip, ROK, plunger, and stovetop. It'd work great for Aeropress too. A good grinder IMHO is better than a crap grinder and superlative brewing methods.

Any Benefit to Grinding Drip w/Espresso Grinder
Would a espresso grinder produce a better consistency of drip grind coffee? I'm planning on purchasing a grinder for drip and Aeropress. I'm looking at the Macap MC4 step, doserless. Any suggestions appreciated.Tags: None
