My old favourite K3 touch died yesterday and the only local supplier of good grinders mainly had the high end grinders. eg SJ etc. but they did have a fiorenzato F4e on display. The salesman gave me a demo (and a good price) and it appeared quite good. I went home and did some research and it had good reviews overseas but not much here including this site. In desperation I bought it. After getting it home and dialing in I was very impressed. Consistent grind, no clumping and consistent dosage using the programmable buttons. It has one feature I really liked. When you hold the continuous button the display shows the time of the dosage. As I like 20gms in a double and 13gms in a single, I held the continuous button down until I reached the desired weight. It then displayed the exact time I dosed. I then set the two programmable buttons for singles and doubles using the times displayed. So setting the dose was dead easy. I only had to adjust the grind to get in dialed in.
I'm interested in other owner opinions, particularly how to get rid of that annoying display that cycles through how many doses you've had for the day, week and its life. The manual is terrible. It says to change the "stats" display you hold down the one cup button but every time you do that it, it dispenses a single dose. I found on an overseas site that the manual is wrong and you need to press the single and double button at the same time. Having figured all that out I still couldn't change the display.
Anyway first impressions and really good for an electronic grinder well under $1000. I'd love to hear from other owners on its reliability, performance and any tips or tricks.
